„Anything less than he come with that bitch here”

Before you ask me, the author of those beautiful, life-changing words is my grandmother.
Yes. Who would say that the typical nice, peaceful and religious grandmother who helps everyone, of the town would say that?
Well let me tell you.
To put you in context, my grandmother had my father with her first husband. The guy worked in the mine, and one day, when my father was about 2 years old (1977), well he didn’t have 2 because it happened before December and he is from December, something fell on his father’s head and he died.
In 1982, my grandmother remarried, in 3 years giving birth to 2 twins who today are my uncles.
Whatever.
My uncles.
One of them has a girlfriend, who has 2 daughters from her previous marriage. She separated from her ex for various things including the fact that he was an alcoholic (still is to this day), lots of infidelities, constant fights and other similar things.
As my grandmother is extremely conservative, she continues to criticize her to this day, although not as much as before, because she is finding another focus.
The other focus now.
My other uncle’s girlfriend.
They started this year, or at the end of 2021, I am not so clear about it. I never knew how it started.
Her.
I am not very clear about this, I only met her last week.
They say that she has 4 children.
And they say, and there it varies, that her husband died in one of the following ways:
1. By an accident.
2. My grandmother’s variant that we will delve into now:
My grandmother says that he hanged himself and died.
Okay, this is pretty common, unfortunately.
But since you already noticed how my grandmother is, I think you know who’s fault.
No?
Well, because of his wife and her (their) 4 common children. Shush, she wouldn’t have raped him to get pregnant. I hope not. But if I tell my grandmother, she will surely say that she did it. XD.
And I don’t know what does she earn to get into the lives of others. But maybe I have to be old to understand. We speak in more than 40 years, I’m going to get old.
Bye.
Well, now that you think that I have said goodbye definitively, do you accept a question from an immature?
No?
I’ll do it anyway.
Would you, as a parent, accept someone like them if it makes your child happy?
I see that my grandmother doesn’t.
And she kind of annoys me a bit. A little more than I would like to admit.
At least in this aspect.
And some more, but we’ll talk another day maybe.

  1. If I realised a danger which would destroy my children’s lives in the person who they plan to marry with, I’d explain to my child what could happen and if he doesn’t accept, then telling myself that responsibility is no longer mine, I’d tell him to be careful and I’d leave him be. At least I’d warned him…

  2. I think that capitalism is not the problem here, but the fact that the church seems to prioritise making profit over sticking to the principles and values which they project onto their people.

  3. You should consider reading about "liberation theology". What you two said also makes me think what the Protestants have been saying for centuries; but their interpretation of religion does not have any problem with profit maximization either. Rather, it is largely Protestantism that has brought about capitalism.

  4. Well, that sums up very well what the goal of the church clearly is, making money. Just why people who are not paid by the church have to be their tele marketers? XD

  5. I remembered a Romanian rapper who once in a beef thrown into politics in general said something like "Religion is a spiritual pursuit, not a business", something that very few people take into account xd

  6. It’s funny, actually.
I would consider myself conservative, but a lot separates me from the old ladies who are considered as such.
For example, I have a tattoo above my heart of the Polish coat of arms and my friend’s grandma doesn’t approve of it at all.
I am a christian, but I do not trust the catholic church, nor do I believe that it is necessary to connect with God, I believe I am capable of it alone.
And although my aunt is christian and many other people in Poland, a good few would consider me a sub human for having a slightly different view, although we worship the same God XD.
And I am not even exaggerating here, I was vocal about my opinion of the Catholic church and let’s just say it didn’t go well.
Doesn’t matter that in the end we all worship God and believe in Jesus, no?
Doesn’t matter that we supposedly have the same principles and moral values, no?
